Easy Video Converter for Your Devices

If you are looking for a really easy video converter, you should consider using Miro Video Converter. It’s as easy as it gets and its free (yup, I said free). Miro Video Converter is open source software. Whether you are using Windows or a Mac, there is a version available for you.

How Easy is It?

Converting video is super easy:

Drag and drop the video you want to convert into the applications’s conversion area, then select the output device/format and finally click “Convert”. It’s that easy.

Output devices and formats include: Android Behold II, Cliq / DEXT, Droid, Eris / Desire, G1, Hero, Magic / myTouch, Nexus One, Apple iPhone, iPod Classic, iPod Nano, iPod touch, PSP and Theora.

For the newbie user this app should be all you need. Enjoy!

For Those Who Want More…

One of the main downsides of the application is the inability to be able to fine tune the output format and file size. If you have limited space on your device and you want to be able to select a good compromise between file size and quality, this app will not be what you are looking for.

I’ve tried a couple of video converters and I always seem to return to my copy of AVS Video Converter for converting video to my iPhone. The two key features which I really like (and basically why I continue to use it) are:

  1. the ability to fine tune the output file in a non-overly complex way (the app also has many built in profiles which work really well, and reduce the final file size without sacrificing too much quality)
  2. the ability to batch process, this is a must if you plan on doing several video conversions. Converting video always takes time, it will really sucks if you have to baby-sit the conversion process.
